- Yes, you can purchase options on oil futures (I have done it several times
- in my futures account). However, futures firms require a $5000 minimum
- deposit to open a futures account. Also, $100 will only buy you an out of
- the money call with a short time (a month or two) til expiration. Very high
- probability that it will expire worthless, unless oil goes up several dollars
- per barrel in a couple months. If you have that accuracy in your predictions,
- call me!

- By the way, my latest margin sheet says $1620 is required to trade an oil
- futures contract (1000 barrels).
