- Body shop products are quite expensive. I was surprised to see prices in the US
- were pretty much the same as in the UK (where things are generally more expensive).
- It strikes me that Americans are are more value-concious than consumers in the UK
- (a rash generalization perhaps), and perhaps not as "green" (another rash generalization?)
- - and might not be willing to fork-out for extra for body shop products.
-
- I've seen two body shop stores within 6 miles of here - both looked very empty of
- customers. In the UK they're almost always packed with women, particularly teenage
- girls exploring the scents, etc. I haven't been near them during the Christmas crazy season
- (Body Shop is very popular for Christmas gifts in the UK) - may be things have picked up.
- Also, perhaps they are not very well known here yet. Perhaps with an improving economy
- they will do well -- but I would recommend visiting one to see how much stuff they're
- selling before buying their stock. I also notice that several company's are finding
- that consumers want healthier/greener products BUT do not want to pay much more for
- them (e.g. McDonald low fat Deluxe burger, BK salalds, etc. come to mind).
-
- Just a thought.
