  19. Meeting the Challenge, Inc. is interested in hearing from persons
  20. and institutions who would be willing to participate in a field
  21. evaluation of software developed for an NSF-sponsored project. The
  22. evaluation would be in the Fall of 1993, from about August 93
  23. through Nov 1993.
  24.  
  25. The evaluation would involve hosting a beta version of our software
  26. on a 386 class PC, running Windows, and using the system to
  27. identify appropriate accommodations for students with
  28. disabilities.  While the evaluation plan is not designed yet, we
  29. expect to gather information from the participants on the value of
  30. the system in identifying appropriate accommodations in a variety
  31. of situations.

  33. We are most interested in gathering a diverse group of evaluators
  34. from a wide spectrum of educational institutions.  For example, in
  35. the current project, we are working with a 2 year community college
  36. and a four year state university in our local area.  What we are
  37. seeking is to expand the evaluation group to include:

  39. - persons who are very familiar (expert !?) in determining the needs of
  40. students with disabilities and identifying appropriate
  41. accommodations (both assistive technology and other forms of
  42. accommodations).
  43.  
  44. - persons who are unfamiliar with determining the needs of students with
  45. disabilities and identifying accommodations, but end up doing it anyway.
  46.  
  47. - educational institutions with a strong science and engineering curriculum
  48. who deal with issues of providing computer access to students with
  49. disabilities.
