- I am in search of at least 1 40+ MB (preferably MFM) Harddrive.
-
- I am in charge of a Neighborhood Learning Center that my church has
- established. The Learning Center is computer-based (educational
- software) and I need a drive for a computer that was donated. Two
- weeks ago a box was stolen which contained 1 ST-251 and 2 ST-225s.
- The ST-251 was destined (I thought) for that donated computer.
-
- The children already have two working computers, so it is not urgent
- that I get the third computer working immediately, but it would be nice.
-
- Any deals for drives (multiple drives are needed for additional future
- computers) could be completed for either tax-deductible receipts,
- actual cash, or a combination of the above. My ideal would be to
- pay $1.50 cash per MB. It could be argued that $3.00 per MB would
- be a proper amount to claim for tax purposes for any gift. The
- Learning Center is under the umbrella of the church and therefore
- is recognized by the I.R.S. as a legitimate charity.
-
- I have specified MFM because that is the type of controller that most
- older 286 machines (at least the ones being donated) seem to have in
- them. Other formats (IDE) would be acceptable if they were accompanied
- by controller cards that support the hard drive plus 2 floppies.
