  11. Just to get off the Japan bashing and anti-bashing for a while, and
  12. into something else, and since it is near the end of the year, lemme
  13. post this to see what happens:

  15. Because of many problems with the existing banking institutions in
  16. the world, i.e. the way they treat women and the way they force 
  17. customers to conform to certain things, and the general attitude
  18. they have about money, and because I just don't like them, I want
  19. to start my own bank. Now, maybe the existing bankers have all 
  20. learned to behave the way they do through experience with the
  21. criminal elements, as, if you have a bank surely you will attract
  22. bank robbers. So supposing I _do_ find the wherewithal to actually
  23. succeed in forming a bank, I may become like them...

  26. What does it take to make a bank?

  28. Banks are more highly regulated in Canada than in the US.
  29. When you incorporate a business in Newfoundland, you are either
  30. a bank or not a bank, and if you intend to be a bank, you have to
  31. follow different rules. How does it work in the rest of the world?
  32. If I moved to Minnesota, for example, would the job be any easier?

  34. What about the humungous S&L thing? Were all these s&l's little
  35. neighbourhood banks started by Joe Bloggs, who hired a criminal
  36. accountant who made off with all the cash?

  38. My bank will be global, electronic, profitable, and multi-purpose,
  39. i.e. customers will be able to initiate and manage financial 
  40. transactions for their own purposes without any interference by
  41. governments or criminals (is that redundant?)- a tall order, I know,
  42. but who said it couldn't be done...

  44. Is this line of thought worth developing, or is it simply a pipe
  45. dream? ( PS I am not using a pipe, nor any other substances except
  46. caffeine...)

  48. Just thought I'd toss this out for general feedback. I don't want
  49. to start any flame wars, but comments, criticisms, and complaints 
  50. are welcome.
