  21. According to the FCC, it is legal to listen to any airwaves as long as
  22. the 
  23. signals are not scrambled.  BUT... it is ILLEGAL to divulge or make use
  24. of
  25. the information gained. This can even mean getting brownie points with
  26. your
  27. girlfriend's father by telling him gossip about the neighbor; and means
  28. that 
  29. tow truck operators cannot "jump" calls by listening for auto accidents
  30. on the
  31. scanners.

  33. So, probably OK (search between 49 and 50 mHz for the channels); but
  34. don't
  35. profit by the information gained.
