- According to the FCC, it is legal to listen to any airwaves as long as
- the
- signals are not scrambled. BUT... it is ILLEGAL to divulge or make use
- of
- the information gained. This can even mean getting brownie points with
- your
- girlfriend's father by telling him gossip about the neighbor; and means
- that
- tow truck operators cannot "jump" calls by listening for auto accidents
- on the
- scanners.

- So, probably OK (search between 49 and 50 mHz for the channels); but
- don't
- profit by the information gained.
