- Rob: We don't use headsets in our fire apparatus, but we do use them in
- our command (communications) vans. These vans handle on scene
- communications, and coordinate with the fire alarm office, on still and
- box, or greater, fires. We had to go to headsets to eliminate the echo
- we were getting, the vans are built light an echo chamber inside, and
- to
- elminate confusion when all the radio consoles are in use. We like the
- results so much that we are now installing headsets on the cellular
- telephones in the vans. We chose David Clark at the recomendation from
- our Motorola service rep. They are expensive, but durable. We did
- have a lot of trouble getting the intercom function to work. And now
- that it does work most people don't use it.
-
- I hope this helps. Let me know if I can give you any other
- information.
