- I would be interested in obtaining some info on the goggles that are
- most notably used by firefighters in the western part of the country,
- particularly California. I am looking for some effective eye
- protection in lieu of the visor that is standard on helmets today. I
- currently have Bourke eye shields on my helmet, but as a practical
- matter they really dont offer much in the way of really protecting your
- eyes when you need it most. Do the goggles I am referring to meet some
- sort of OSHA or NFPA specs? Are they designed for this line of work or
- are they something that can be picked up at a good hardware store. If
- this sort of eye protection is a specialty item, where can it be
- obtained and what is the approximate cost? I havent been able to come
- up with anything in this part of the country so any help would be
- appreciated.
