- The Gulf Shore Fire Department utilizes such a set up to comply
- with
- NFPA regulations on their Rescue trucks. Due to the high ambient noise
- level while running sirens and airhorns they have adapted the headsets
- to
- work both as an intercom and to control their Motorola radios. They
- have
- also added a jack to the pumper control panel so the driver can
- disconnect
- from the cab and utilize his headset vice handheld at the controls. They
- use
- two types of headsets. David Clark's (MilSpec and high cost) and
- Sigtronics
- of Covina, CA (818) 915-1993.
-
- The Gulf Shore Fire Department along with the help of their local
- radio
- shop did the installation.

- You might also want to check around any Aviation outlet... As you might
- be
- aware just about every aircraft has such a system installed from the
- smallest private planes to commercial jets. I am familiar with Telex
- headsets which also produce MilSpec headsets.
