- MM=>EM> I live in Teaneck, NJ, about ten miles from Midtown NYC. I'm not
- a
- MM=>EM> member of a fire company, but I have several friends and family
- MM=>EM> members
-
- MM=>Is the BOX 54 CLUB still active there? Met a fellow (Bill Nielson)
- who
- MM=>was a member while working for Sears. Retired and moved out here.
-
- Yes, they are.
-
- My brother-in-law, Ray Murray, belonged to them for many years. (His
- dad, Joe Murray, was Teaneck Chief at the time). I'll pass along the
- name and see if it rings any bells (so to speak [g])....Ray just got
- elected Chief of the Dumont (NJ) VFD, which he joined after moving
- there
- and leaving BOX 54.......
-
- I've thought about joining myself. They do a terrific job of supporting
- the local FD's, and were very busy during the storm, helping to ferry
- people and supplies to the shelters, besides providing their usual
- services to the working firemen.
