- I know a way of doing it, but it may be a little more complicated than you
- bargained for. My security system has a fire zone to which I have hooked up
- all my smoke alarms. The alarms run off 12VDC, and require 4 wires - 2 for
- supply and 2 for the alarm loop. This would do the job for you.
-
- You could buy a cheap alarm unit and hook up the smoke detectors to it.
- But these smoke detectors are quite expensive (about $50 a pop).
-
- If you are willing to open up the internals of the battery powered detectors,
- you should be able to take the connections going to the buzzer and use some relays to
- tie all of them together. Haven't done it myself, though, just free advice :-).
