  25. I bank at Chase Bank of MD.  They don't have many branches and fewer
  26. ATM machines.  Their policy is free checking and free ATMs if you have
  27. direct deposit or a certain minimum balance.  (I have direct deposit.)
  28. When I got the account I was told that "out-of-area" ATM transactions
  29. would cost $1.  However, they have since changed that policy and I can
  30. use any ATM anywhere without incurring a charge (I've only tried in
  31. MD, VA, DC, and CA.)
