- Well, if it is appraised for $97,000 - it probably nets for about $10,000.
- Your friend is not likely to get much more than that out of a direct sale
- to a jeweler.

- Jewelers differ in the commission they charge - it will be at least 20% of
- the sale price. Within reason, your friend should be able to set what that
- price is to be. There are also a limited number of places that would be
- willing to handle something that expensive - the market is limited, unless
- the piece is unique in some way. The jeweler will want a fast turnover.
