- The producers of African Connections(R) are conducting research on the issue of
- discrimination against persons of African ancestry seeking to enter the
- United States.
-
- While success stories of immigrants from Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, Cuba,
- Mexico and the Indian subcontinent abound with regularity in the popular media,
- a strong perception exists that often inpenetrable barriers exist for Blacks
- seeking to enter the U.S. - whether as students, tourists, or as political
- refugees.
-
- The detention of Hatians and the denial of a student visas to African students
- call for a very serious examination of United States immigration policies and
- their implementation.
-
- AFRICAN CONNECTIONS(R) will prepare a 30 minute video presentation examining
- therealities of this important topic, and its far reaching implications for the
- African and African-American communities. The program will air during the
- second half of 1993.
-
- Your assistance in providing research leads and case studies is greatly
- appreciated.
