- If you buy the printer and a number of PC's you may wish to buy a serial
- electronic switch you all can share the laser printer. If you do so I
- strongly suggest an electronic switch that plugs into the I/O port on the
- printer. The switch should accept rj telephone jack type wire and
- connecters. The PC end can also be RJ but you will need an RJ to DB
- converter to connect to your serial port on the computers. These switches
- come in 4,6,8 12 port varities. Only buy one that does not come with
- software ie....should be plug and play, as simple as possible. I had a
- sharespoole 4 port and it worked great. I aslo bought standard 50 foot
- cables with the switch beacuse there were less expensive than I could buy
- them local....they were rj on one end and db25 on the other so that no litle
- converter was necessary. Good luck with you pkg. Have you considered an
- overhead display device. It would allow you to display to the class what
- appears on the screen of your computer. You can get display devices that
- combine and overhead with the display disvice so that a seperate overhead
- display is not necessary.
