- FLAME FLAME FLAME FLAME
- WARNING
- DO NOT READ IF EASILY OFFENDED

-
- Please refrain from scriptural references until you have managed to
- establish the factual nature of the document you are quoting.
-
- The bible has SERIOUS authenticity problems as a historical document
- in some aspects and to use it as such, one would have to detail the
- specific history of the entire set of permutations of language and
- menaing and connotations for the translations and changes made to
- the sections youare quoting...
-
- This is a SCIENCE forum...not RELIGION... some referents to the "day
- to day" referents that peopel use in life (some folks are religious)
- is ok, but we need to discriminate what we know as fact from what
- some people may assume on the basis of social convenience or
- indoctrination.
-
- As scientists iit is our JOB or TASK to learn to be analytical and
- critical of all data and assumed relationships.
-
- definitely NOT to automatically reference highly questionalble data.
-
- You may choose to believe the bible is the work of god... and if so
- and if that brings your pleasure or security or makes you behave better
- to your fellow human beings...then I am sure everyone is delighted...
- and that is a fine choice for you to make as an individual for your
- own emotional or personal health... but a questionable or silly reference
- to make in a scientific context.
