- Hi there - I left a message to you a couple of weeks ago, but maybe you didn't
- get it or maybe you didn't want to respond. That's fine. I'm writing again
- because I figures the former - I'm a hopeful guy.
- Anyway, if there's a time stamp on this thing, just ignore it. The
- only reason I'm writing so late is because I got back from this concert which
- I played in. I'm in this Portland Youth Philharmonic deal, and it's a decent
- orchestra, so sometimes (okay, usually) we get to play in real auditoriums.
- Tonight was pretty cool - it was supposed to be a Christmas concert, so we had
- a harp concerto and stuff.
- Sorry, but I was scanning through some of the new messages on this
- area, and I saw one from you to someone - your schedule sounds pretty
- grinding! Are you a senior? All those IB classes would drive me nuts - we
- don't have them in my school, although some in the Portland area do, but we
- have Advanced Placement classes - the thing I don't like about those is that
- it is just another thing that the College "Board" runs. I mean, we have to
- shell out big bucks to take their SATs, their Achievements, their AP tests,
- and then we have to pay them more money to send the results to colleges we
- want to go to - SOMEONE is making serious MONEY. Anyway, enough of that -
- it's boring stuff.
- So how was your Christmas? Mine was really really really boring, as
- usual - my family sans my dad (he was in S. Korea on business and just got
- back today) stayed at home. So, Christmas Eve my mom, my sister and I popped
- a psychedelic dance CD into the stereo and had our own little house party.
- Now, I'm not that strange (once in a while), but after eating so many Ritz
- crackers one gets a little hyper. And they call me a senior. Maybe I don't
- deserve the title.
- Anyway, I also read (sorry :-( ) that you might have to move to Korea
- or somewhere else - if you do, do plan to move to the Seoul area? Being
- Korean (I don't know if that's a positive trait considering you're
- SURROUNDED by Orientals where you live) I visited my relatives there this past
- summer for a couple of weeks - I found Seoul to be a very cramped, polluted,
- hectic, traffic-jammed place - but it DID have it's beauty, in a way. In the
- place you are living, is it very urban? Or pretty rural?
- So how are you connected to this echo? It seems to me like you are
- running your own little BBS - or is there a local one that will echo your
- messages?
- ARGGHH. There is NOT enough time in winter vacation to finish homework
- - at least when you haven't done any in the last week. Tommorrow, I will do
- all of my homework - or maybe go see the light display at the zoo - or maybe
- go for a run - or whatever. I come up with any excuse not to do homework
- during vacation.
- Hmm. Not much is going to happen this week where I live - the thing is
- that it is supposed to snow where I live - but I was planning on going skiing
- at Mt. Hood anyway, if I can scrape up the dough off the cookie tin.
-
- If you do get this, please write - I'm really bored.
-
- Thanx,
- Andrew
-
- P.S. If you happen to pick up any Korean, please teach me - I don't know
- nuthin. Much to the dismay of my parents and relatives. Sigh. :-|
