- Hi there, did you ever wander what Christmas realy is ???
- Here are some answers.
-
- What does C-H-R-I-S-M-A-S mean to you? Here is an acronym to
- explain how to honor Jesus Christ this Christmas.
- C stands for Christ, who alone makes Christmas, or any other
- day, significant. Jesus, whose name means "the Lord is
- Salvation", must be titled Christ (Redeemer) in your life, if
- Christmas is to mean anything.
- H stands for History, it brings authenticity to the Christmas
- story. The birth of Christ is an actual testable historical
- event. The date of December 25 is not necessarily the date of
- Christ's birthday (nobody knows the exact date of His birth).
- This is the day that was observed as far back as 220 AD.
- R stands for Rejoice. Christmas is a season of rejoicing. The
- cause of our joy should be Christ, not the gifts and the days
- off.
- I stands for Incarnation. Christ is not only eternal God (John
- 1:1) but at one point in time He became man as well (John 1:14).
- Immanuel (one of Christ's names) means "God with us" (Matt 1:23).
- S stands for St. Nicholas, the fourth century bishop of Myra,
- whose story is given as example of charity and faithfulness. The
- good things and love we show on Christmas should be honoring only
- Jesus.
- T stands for Tradition, the stories and customs associated with
- Christmas. There are: strictly non Christian traditions, pagan
- traditions (that were changed to proclaim the good news) and
- traditions developed within the church. By being evergreen the
- Christmas tree symbolizes the everlasting life that can be found
- only in Jesus. The lights of Christmas affirm that Jesus is the
- Light of the world.
- M shows the place of the Magi (wise men) in the Christmas
- picture. This reminds us that nobody is wealthy enough, powerful
- enough or far enough away that he of she should not bow before
- Jesus Christ the King of kings and Lord of lords. (1 Tim 6:15)
- A stands for advent, a word referring to Christ's coming. On
- Christmas we should be reminded that Jesus came once to save and
- will come again to judge.
- S stands for salvation, the greatest gift man ever received.
- Mankind was separated from God. God had to send Himself through
- His son to reconcile man to Himself. Jesus the God-man died and
- rose from the dead to make a way for man to enter into God's
- presence. He died and lives again so that "we may also live"
- (Romans 6:8; 8:12). Today the same Jesus, wants you to have THE
- NEW LIFE that only He can give.
-
-
- Merry Christmas and a happy new year from Daniel Tet.

- This message might make some angry. I wish they wouldn't be but rather
- examine and try to see if it is true. If some of the details seem untrue
- or inappropriate I'd be happy to hear you out.
- Above all remember this:

-
- Christmas is just a holliday and it can be IGNORED;
- JESUS CHRIST the Lord of Christmas will never push His way in your
- heart but He deserves a fair chance.
- HE MIGHT JUST BE WHO HE SAID HE IS.
