Another you thing that you have to consider is MATH. Math is a big thing for computers, most colleges require that you have an extensive math background and that you continue to take it throughout college. I know a great deal about computers but took no math courses. Becasue I knew what I was doing before we got started I was granted a waiver for all the math classes I needed. It all worked out for me.
Another thing that you might consider is what else intrests you. For instance if you like to teach young people perhaps you can combine the two and become a computer teacher for an elementary or high school.
A job that brushes with computers is just as rewarding and somwehat more if you enjoy both.
