- You appear to be using the original IBM PC character set
- in recode-3.2.4. You should instead be using the superset
- called the "code page 850" character set. You'll find the
- chart for this character set in the back of IBM's manual
- for DOS 3.3 or higher.

- Code page 850 includes support for Danish, Norwegian, and
- Portuguese, which is lacking in the original PC character set.

- Your use of the old PC character set shows up in coverting
- Latin1 Portuguese text to Macintosh. Both of these support
- Portuguese, but because you go via IBM PC, the text is clobbered!
