- I sent a request a while back asking:
-
- > Does anyone have a lisp function for diff'ing two buffers side by side,
- > similar to what sdiff does but in emacs?
-
- I received a dozen responses. To summarize, most everyone referred me
- to the emerge package:
-
- ;; LCD Archive Entry:
- ;; emerge|Dale R. Worley|drw@math.mit.edu
- ;; |File merge
- ;; |92-11-20|version 5 beta|~/packages/emerge.el.Z
-
- One person referred me to diff.el (part of emacs 19) and another to
- compare-w.el (part of standard distribution). I found that emerge is
- very close to what I had in mind.
-
- I like to thank all who responded, especially bergquis@gdc.com (Brett
- Bergquist) who mailed me emerge.el.
-
- Thanks,
-
