  13. Hello,
  14.     I compiled BASH 1.12 on an IBM 370-type machine and it seemed
  15. to compile just fine, but when I try to do virtually anything under the
  16. shell I get the error "Illegal instruction" and it completely kills
  17. my login.  Also, there is a core dump of zero length.  Has anyone else 
  18. seen this?  I'd appreciate any help.  Here are the particulars:

  20.             Bash Version: 1.12
  21.             Machine & OS: IBM 4164 running AIX V1.2.1 on VM
  22.             Compiler: MetaWare's High-C
  23.             Description of Bug: Says "Illegal instruction",
  24.                         and dies (kills login)
  25.             Short Script to cause bug: $ echo $TERM
