- Hello,
- I compiled BASH 1.12 on an IBM 370-type machine and it seemed
- to compile just fine, but when I try to do virtually anything under the
- shell I get the error "Illegal instruction" and it completely kills
- my login. Also, there is a core dump of zero length. Has anyone else
- seen this? I'd appreciate any help. Here are the particulars:
-
- Bash Version: 1.12
- Machine & OS: IBM 4164 running AIX V1.2.1 on VM
- Compiler: MetaWare's High-C
- Description of Bug: Says "Illegal instruction",
- and dies (kills login)
- Short Script to cause bug: $ echo $TERM
-
-
- Thanks,
- Jeff Parker
