  16. The program wdiff is a front end to diff for comparing files on a word
  17. per word basis.  A word is anything between whitespace.  This program
  18. is particularily useful for comparing two texts in which a few words
  19. have been changed and for which paragraphs have been refilled.
  20.  
  21. A new release will soon be available on prep.ai.mit.edu, in directory
  22. pub/gnu, as file wdiff-0.04.tar.Z.  All reported bugs have been fixed.
  23. Thanks to all those who contributed comments or suggestions.

  25. Installation has been simplified.  Flex is not anymore required for
  26. non ANSI-C compilers.  wdiff uses the first found of gnudiff, diffgnu,
  27. gdiff or diff.  Some other portability problems have been alleviated.
  28. Here is a list of differences from version 0.03, extracted from NEWS:

  30. * Add -a for automatic pager call, disallow this by default.
  31. * Add -l for less-like overstriking.
  32. * Add -n to forbid wrapping of differences.
  33. * New cbars script for producing change bars.
