- Titre: "Some Applications of Algebraic Geometry to Cryptography"
-
- Resume:
-
- Public-key cryptosystems are cryptographic
- schemes that are used by banks and other organizations where
- secure communication has to be norried out publically
- among a large number of users.
- Each user publishes a key in a public directory so
- that anyone wishing to send a message to can
- encrypt it using .
- We will present McEliece-like public-key cryptosystems using
- algebraic geometric codes over arbitrary finite fields
- . Some of the questions connected with our schemes
- should be of interest to arithmetical algebraic geometers.
-
- We will also present generalized threshold schemes
- using algebraic geometric codes. We will discuss how algebraic
- varieties over finite fields could be used to construct
- such schemes.
-
- Most of this work was carried out jointly with Prof. Oscar Moreno of UPR.
