- Yup, that's correct. I'm aware the drives work fine and spin up fast enough
- in the Apollo nodes, I was thinking more in terms of long term useage.
- In other words, where the drives might go AFTER the Apollo. I haven't ever
- had any trouble with slow spinup on other drives, but one of our RODIMES
- failed once when we didn't have a node handy to test it out in. I brought
- it home and threw it into my Amiga. The unit didn't spin up fast enough.
- It wasn't recognized. Thinking this was strange, I brought home a
- different RODIME to test. This one also spun up slowly. If I waited
- 2 seconds after power on, then rebooted, it worked perfectly every time.
- >From raw power-up, never worked. Never have had that problem with any
- other small chassis drive. The Maxtors have been flawless.
- But like I said, if you get a great price, and can consider the RODIMES
- a throwaway when they fail, what the heck...
