- You can get temp tags to operate the vehicle for a limited amount
- of time on the public highways, for a specific purpose (to get
- it inspected, or for transport point to point.

- Current laws that restrict the transportation of handguns only address
- loaded handguns (in all but a few places). An unloaded gun, in a
- box in the trunk of a car, is nearly always in compliance with the
- law. Even if that changed because of some new licensing deal, a
- FFL (Federal Firearms License) holder can transport, for the purpose
- of sale, firearms in all 50 states. Note that all an FFL does is
- allow someone to do business selling guns across state lines, and
- it is in no way a permit to carry or otherwise use firearms.
