  13. I posted a message the other day about having problems compiling X11R4 MIT
  14. distribution.  I am still having problems and have not had any responses to
  15. my message.  I realize this is the holiday season and not everyone is
  16. reading messages, but can someone read back to my message and give me a hand?

  18. Another interesting tidbit to add to the situation:  The man pages for the
  19. ld linker say that directories listed with the -L option are searched before
  20. the standard locations.  This does not seem to be the case, because running
  21. ldd on some executables shows the standard location libraries listed and not
  22. the ones from the newly compiled distribution.  Is this the case, or is this
  23. a LD_LIBRARY_PATH kind of thing?  Will someone clear this up for me as well?
