- I'm trying to get a non-virtual screen, because I dislike the panning when
- the mouse cursor hits the edge of the real screen. So I start by removing
- the line containing the word "virtual" from the Xconfig, and, by playing with
- the timings, get a perfectly good non-virtual 832x624 mode. But the refresh
- rate is rather low, so I try for an 800x600 mode, which will have less flicker.
- I have no problem getting stable 800x600 modes, but _they are all virtual_!
-
- Can anyone tell me the exact circumstances under which virtualisation occurs,
- and how to prevent it?
-
- Setup: Xfree86 1.0Ya mono, 28MHz video clock, autosync monitor. The video
- card is not easily configurable for higher clock speeds under the
- operating system I am using :-(.
-
- Thanks in advance, etc
- [There may be a more specific newsgroup for such a question, but this site
- doesn't get it.]
