  24. Just a point to remember,  save_under and backing_store are hints
  25. to the server about the intended uses of windows.  The server is
  26. free to ignore any of these hints and therefore the behavior isn't,
  27. strictly speaking,  a bug :) .   On the other hand,  I would expect
  28. that save_under would either always be honored or not,  with the 
  29. possible exception of very large windows or tight memory.

  31. You might make sure that those bits are really set.  A tool such
  32. as xwininfo will do a query and print out the information for 
  33. you.  You might also get valuable info by using xprop.
