  10. We have exactly one workstation which is not networked, but many people use it
  11. by simply walking in and logging on. Only people at work on our project have
  12. physical access to the machine, really security is not a problem. However, if
  13. someone wants to use the machine, and someone else is logged on he first has to
  14. kill the X server, logoff and have the other person log on. We all use the
  15. system for a common job, and it would be much simpler if we could have it set
  16. up so that another one of us can just walk in, su to his own account, and use
  17. the X server that someone else started. However, X won't let you do that since
  18. the new user was not the one who started the server, and the display is not
  19. owned by him, even though it's an su from the original account.

  21. Is there any way to turn off this 'security' feature via a command line switch
  22. or a config file, so that anyone who has su'ed to their own account and does
  23. not own the display can write to that display?

  26. much easier.
