- No, it is not really necessary to be a power user. If you use the
- LABEL command with DOS 4.0 or above, it will update the BPB in the
- boot sector. DOS 4.0+ records the volume label at offset 2Bh in the
- boot sector. If the integrity checker is using the complete BS when
- calculating the signature, then it will issue a warning message.
