- I'm using a Zyxel v.42bis modem which allows me to switch MNP5 compression
- off and let v.42bis compression on. With this setup I get a better perfomance

- of compressed files doesn't decrease. It's a well know problem of MNP5,
- that it looses performance on compressed files, which doesn't happen with

- the same. Also you'll have this problem with the zmodem protocoll. I would
- suggest to take a look at your modem manual if it allows you to switch of
- MNP5 compression only and try it out.
