- Interesting.... I *am* using v.42bis modems that can do 14.4K without
- compression, if I turn on the compression and error correction my ping
- times go up and my ftp time are horrible. The only thing I change is
- the compression and error correction settings on the modem (one end
- only the other end autodetects). BTW 200mSec is about the order of my
- ping times so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
