  26. As I understand it you can speak to the Unix support people at Dell
  27. about what they do and don't support, but they can't give you prices.
  28. Unfortunately if you don't get exact part numbers from them you don't
  29. get the correct quote when you get back to the sales people.  They also
  30. like to tell you that the top of the line stuff works fine and when you
  31. ask about cheaper stuff they hedge.  For the Dell Unix people call 800
  32. 727-8649 (727-unix :-).

  34. This brings up a question.  I am looking at purchasing Dells SV.4
  35. (based on Eric Raymonds buyers guide).  I need to add a tape drive (I
  36. need one anyways for backup!) and I am going to add some more disk.  I
  37. was planning on going the SCSI route.  Does anyone have a good list of
  38. the SCSI tape drives that will read the Dell distribution?  The Unix
  39. support people at Dell suggested the Wangtec 325/525 QIC drive.  They
  40. also sell the cheaper Colorado Jumbo 250, but aren't sure it works
  41. under unix.  What have others used successfully?
