- Univel's UNIXWARE products are *more* expensive than the straight
- SVr4.2 offerings from Consensys and Info Foundations, though Univel
- does add support for Netware protocols and DOS functionality. *All*
- these are too expensive.

- What makes you think Novell will do a better job at this than USL.
- One of the myriad objectives of the Destiny project was to do just
- that: tailor and clean the systeem for smaller platforms.

- I have a nagging suspicion that the only ones who will benefit - at
- least in the short run - are the high muckymucks at AT&T and USL who
- will take their stock options and run. Of course, some of the payment
- to AT&T will reportedly involve paper - specifically, newly issued
- Novell stock representing a miniscule interest in the parent company.
-
- How strange are the machinations of the AT&T board: First they pay
- huge sums to buy NCR, who are then asked to run AT&T's computer
- operations. Then they sell off some of the crown jewels of their
- own computer technology.
