- IRIX is, I believe, an implementation of UNIX used on Silicon Graphics' IRIS
- workstations (if I'm wrong, y'all please scream). So if I'm not mistaken,

- This is correct. Irix is SGI's SVR3 + BSD + etc... UNIX OS.
- It has a lot of SYSV4isms, but is actually based of of r3 + BSD
- It also has alot of internal SGI stuff, such as some basic
- multithreading stuff... Also I have heard of real time and secure
- versions, although I haven't used 'em....
