- I encountered these same messages once when I was upgrading the memory in my
- BSD/386 system (Compudyne 386/25 original model). I turned out that the memory
- expansion board did not like the cheap 3 chip 1MEG SIMMs, but worked fine when
- I got the 9 chip variety. I am now running 8 9-chip 70ns 1MEG SIMMs.

- The system would work fine until it needed the area where the 3-chip SIMMs were
- mapped into. If I placed the 3-chip SIMMs in the lower memeory area the system
- would barf on the way up.

- The 9-chip SIMMs are about $5 more, but worth it.
