  14.   That is right. The ne driver is internal in the kernal only.
  15. It does not have a /dev/ specialfile. So

  17.   # ifconfig ne0 inet 192.1.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.0

  19. should do it. But if you get the error (some IOCLT stuff): ne0 no such
  20. interface. then your card is probably not recognised as a NE1000. If
  21. it is recognised you should also see a message at boottime.
