  31. Because the SS24 uses a programmable clock synth, these values will not always
  32. be the same.  They will be set to whatever the last DOS graphics program
  33. set them too (but they get reset on a cold boot).  Some people use
  34. the SS24 with XFree86 by first booting DOS and running a graphics program
  35. to set the clock, then booting Unix.

  45. To find out why the server is failing, take a look at xdm's error file
  46. /usr/X386/lib/X11/xdm/xdm-errors.  In this case it's probably
  47. because of mode/clock mismatches.  You should initially leave out the
  48. Clocks line in Xconfig, and look at the error log to see what clocks
  49. the server detects.
