- I would like to write Linux drivers for Advanced Micro Research's Unterminal
- (multiple video cards/keyboards in a single computer) and Archive Corp.'s
- SC402 SCSI Controller.
-
- To do this I need:
-
- Programming info (OEM manual) for the SC402 controller and/or Archive's
- address and phone number. I haven't tried getting the information directly
- from them since I lost their address. The big chip on the SC402 says:
-
- ARCHIVE
- 20940-001
- NCR0380704
- F841846
- N9029
-
- If that sounds like a standard chip to anybody, let me know, it would also
- be helpful. The only thing on the SC402 board is that chip and some TTL (no
- PALs).
-
- and:
-
- Programming info (OEM manual) for the AMR's Unterminal, the hercules-card
- model. I have tried to get the information from them, but they weren't
- cooperative. (some lame excuse about them having agreements with the
- software companies which make their drivers- it's also possible that the
- salesperson didn't know what he was talking about). Too bad, since they
- have a really nice product. Anyway, before I start hacking, I wonder if
- anyone has any info.
-
- Any drivers I write will of course be donated to Linus.
-
- I'm trying to switch OSs from Xenix to Linux in this one job I'm working on.
- Except for the missing drivers, Linux turns out to be ideal for the vertical
- products which consultants like me put together. It's not a big deal if the
- SC402s won't work, I can just replace them with supported cards. But the
- Unterminal thing is a relatively big investment. It would be really nice if
- that could be made to work. (next time I not going to use the cutesy
- hardware- I'm going to switch to ethernet).
