  12.     After a few months of trying to get 386BSD to install either
  13. manually or using the install program, I have notices something.
  14. Everytime I run the following the system hangs!

  16.     vi
  17.     elvis
  18.     disklabel
  19.     newfs
  20.     zcpio
  21.     
  22.     I think that about it... All off of either the dist or fixit
  23. disk. I can boot both fine, run ls, stty, sh fine. Could there be
  24. some type of memory problem I am having? Some kind of bios setup. I have
  25. a 386-40 with the opti chipset and AMI bios. Is there some dos program
  26. out there that I can use to debug this? It that possible? Is there
  27. a kernal that has heavy debuging code in it avaliable? I mean plenty
  28. of printf's and the like? So I can at least see what going on? Is
  29. there some keys I can press to get debugging info on the kernal?
  30. Help!

  34. p.s. I have tried to  boot linux but the same problem occurs. Now that
  35. seems like there maybe a problem with the board, eh? But I don't
  36. have the background in 386bsd as the rest of you to deal with this!
