  12.     Since the system hangs now when you try a network access on the Gateway
  13. I went back and booted from the fixit disk and mounted the hard drive. and
  14. then ran the ifconfig program by hand. The network then worked fine!!
  15. Except with a Startartartart between every character that I typed.
  16. Maybe this is related to the new patch for NE-2000 cards since the new
  17. kernel that I am running has that installed, and the old kernel doesn't
  18.
