- I didn't give enough info in the first post because I'd seen the same problem
- so many times, but with answers posted that I just sort of assumed everyone
- knew what I meant. Bad assumption on my part. Anyway, hopefully some kind soul
- can help me now that I have a bit more to go on.
-
-
- I tried installing 0.1.44(the latest dist.fs kernel I could find) on the 160MB
- of unpartitioned free space on a 320MB ESDI drive with a 160MB DOS partition.
-
- The machine is an Everex 20Mhz 386 with 8MB and bios dated 12/25/88.
-
- After running the install program with no trouble, I hit return to reboot, and
- after identifying the peripherals (just monitor, floppies two serial ports,
- and hard drive) the machine says something about a kernel panic and dumping
- ram (happens way too fast to catchg it all) and then reboots. This will
- continue ad infinitum.
-
- Can anyone help? I'll summarize and post any replies.
-
- Thanks in advance.
