- :Does anyone notice problems when throwing files from the UNIX partition into

- :directory, the directory is then rearranged. If you try to throw the file
- :out again, it works. It takes two tries to throw out a file.
-
- Yes, yes yes! I've had this same problem. When I tried to get help from
- the Apple A/UX support folks last March or April, they were had no
- other reports of this problem.
-
- And, yes I do use a personal System Folder.
-
- My partial solution was to attach a 2nd hard disk formatted as a Mac
- partition; copy all of my A/UX home directory files to that disk (and
- remove them from the A/UX partition); reboot into the Mac os (no A/UX);
- run Norton Disk Doctor on the files on the external disk (lots of
- bundle bits and other stuff fixed); reboot into A/UX and copy all of
- my files back from the external disk to my A/UX partition.
-
- I no longer have any trouble trashing anything, BUT my folder windows
- (under my home directory window) routinely (usually overnight while no
- one is logged on) resize and reposition themselves to the default size
- and location. Most annoying!
-
- :I have tried to rebuild the desktop, but the problem won't go away. Does
- :anyone know what is causing this? It's not fatal, but it's annoying.
-
- Rebuilding the desktop (too many times) has not cured this problem. Can
- anyone from Apple shed some light on this?
-
- Will A/UX 3.1 have a fix? When is 3.1 due?
