  11. Hello, fellow AIXers!
  12. Well, I once again have a small problem.
  13. I'm running AIX 3.2.2, on an rs6k.
  14. when mail comes in from the outside world, a file gets created in /tmp
  15. (ma* - where the * at least appears to be arbitrary).
  16. also, the person who sent the message gets a bounce-back as follows:

  29. as bellmail says: all the files in /var/spool/mail have 660 for perms.
  30. they have the correct owners as well.
  31. I THINK the permissions are right on /var and /var/spool.
  32. /var/spool/mail has 777.
  33. Is any of this wrong?
  34. What else could be the problem?

  36. I can manually append to /usr/spool/mail/root
  37. by cat >> /usr/spool/mail/root.
  38. could it be a setuid problem?
