  13. The team I am working with are trying to construct an X server running
  14. on the RS/6000 under AIX 3.2. Our company has a specialized graphics
  15. product called VARS which is display-list based and we are trying to put
  16. X on it. For input devices, we were hoping to use a mouse and keyboard
  17. connected to the standard ports on the RS/6000 and use some of IBM's
  18. sample X server code to drive these. The sample code uses the HFT
  19. driver.

  21. Unfortunately, the HFT driver on our RS/6000 will not load at the
  22. moment, presumably because it has no display adapter. Does anybody know
  23. if the HFT driver can be used without a display adapter, and if so, how
  24. to configure it to operate in this manner?

  26. Alternatively, does anyone know how to drive the mouse and keyboard at a
  27. lower level using /dev/sioms0 and /dev/siokb0 ?  I can't find any
  28. references to driving the devices at this level in InfoExplorer.
