  13. Thanks to those that responded!  It seems that on the IBM 340 and 350
  14. (at least) they have integrated the Ethernet onto the planar board,
  15. and have a riser card to get it out of the system.  On the riser card,
  16. there is a set of jumper blocks that have to be moved for dix vs bnc
  17. connections.  After moving the jumpers, everything worked fine!

  21. P.S.  Doesn't this (the jumpers...) get away from the 'MCA' philosophy
  22.       of having everything settable via software?  I guess since it's no
  23.       longer an MCA card it doesn't matter.  What would have been nice
  24.       I think is a 'message' on the 'smit chgenet' screen about
  25.       'Connector ADAPTER ....     settable via jumpers' where the other
  26.       systems will toggle from dix to bnc.
