  14. Thanks to everyone who responded to my previous posting.

  16. I'm not insensitive to those people who pay for their network connections
  17. out of their own pocket.  I know how much it costs to receive an internet
  18. feed.  However, I will be reposting the stories in their entirety at least
  19. once more.  It has been two months since I last posted them, so I don't
  20. believe that this is unreasonable.  I will edit them to remove as many
  21. duplicates as possible. (I'm sure we have all heard enough 'rm *' stories,
  22. right?)  Hopefully this will reduce the overall size and increase the
  23. signal/noise ratio of the posting in favor of signal.

  25. I will also be making the stories available by ftp.  Unfortunately, RIT
  26. has no anon. ftp setup, and since I'm not connected to the net, I can't
  27. provide anon ftp from my home box.  I have had a couple pointers to ftp
  28. sites.  I will discuss possibilities with administrators of those sites
  29. in the near future.  I'm hoping that people who don't have ftp access will
  30. be able to get the stories by ftpmail.  (If you have experience using
  31. ftpmail, please mail me about what that entails)

  33. Thus, in the future, I will post only additions to the stories, with a
  34. pointer to ftp sites and ftpmail for people who want to get the whole
  35. summary.  I believe this to be a reasonable compromise between posting
  36. every couple of months and not posting at all.

  38. For those who are waiting for a posting, you will have to wait just a bit
  39. longer.  I have been in communication with Arne Asplem, the originator of
  40. the thread back in October, and he has a collection of stories that were
  41. mailed to him directly.  He will be sending those to me shortly.  I have
  42. also received a few stories from people directly, and I am in the process
  43. of editing those.  I figure that it will be a couple of weeks before I am
  44. ready to post, but I think it will be worth the wait.  ;-)
