  26. The chaos seen in Freeman's work appears to be associated with an
  27. accessible hyperbolic critical point that is used as a starting point for
  28. rapid pattern recognition. Another potential application of chaos is in
  29. controlling a significant, naturally dissipative process at minimum cost.
  30. A third application of chaos is in creating intelligent but unpredictable
  31. behavior. (A good fighter pilot is chaotic.) In yet another context, the
  32. "best" approach to non-zero-sum games with information collection is
  33. inherently chaotic (and hence difficult for purely stimulus/response
  34. systems to generate). Chaos can also be exploited for secure communication
  35. between members of a distributed community. Chaos also resists stylized
  36. attacks better than any periodic process (since the response time
  37. distribution has a continuous Fourier spectrum).
