  13. There is a lovely photo of a 3D Belusov-Zhabotinsky type CA (scrolls)
  14. on p. 111 of the coffee-table paperback FRACTALS THE PATTERNS OF CHAOS
  15. by John Briggs (Simon & Schuster Touchstone Books 1992).  The image
  16. is by Mario Markus, a physicist at the Max Planck Institute in Dortmund,
  17. Germany.  This is the first such picture I've ever seen, and I'd love
  18. to see more.  I've written Mario Markus but haven't heard back yet.
  19. Does anyone know anything more about this picture or about other pictures
  20. of 3D CAs?
